The Runaway Cat

Ogre-mi ran away once. We confined him in a room when we were staying in a rented house. That time he was in good health, gained some weight (fat) after his dental and maggot issues. He learned to open the window himself. He's a really, really smart cat.

So one day I was back from work and I found the window opened and he was not in his room. I was furious. I went out to search for him for a while but didn't find him. That time I still wasn't too attached to him. And I thought, okay if he wants to run away, so be it.

He came back the next day, with the same injury on his left arm - a bloody, large cavity hole. Frustrated as we were, we still brought him to see the vet, again. And nurse him back to health, again. He had to wear the cone of shame for the whole time. He hated it but he still tolerated it. Just like how he tolerated my excessive kissing and touching and hugging.

That was the only one time he successfully escaped.

Life With Ogre-mi

It was just like a normal cat with Ogre-mi, before being diagnosed with CKD. We feed him once in the morning and once in the evening. In the evening he'll be released from the confinement of his room and into the living area. Feeder would play with him with his favourite mouse, but first the sitting on Feeder's lap ritual should not be forgotten.

After he'd diagnosed with CKD, we moved him into the master bedroom with us. He was too weak to move around the house anyway. The daily routine also had many changes along with the terrible news. Force feeding food, medicine, and subcutaneous fluid, twice a day. The doctor said everyday is a bonus. We had a bonus of close to 2 years.

Over months he got better and his Creatinine reading had dropped from over 2000 to around 300. We were thrilled. Every visit to the clinic there was improvement on his blood test result. Nevertheless the routine had to carry on. It got easier because we didn't have to force feed him anymore. He was eating willingly with appetite. To a point where the vet said we need to control his body weight to not reach 6 kg. He was at 5.8 kg. However the routine was taking so much of our time and it was eating us up, especially me. But we never love him any less. Ogre-mi was the best cat still - obedient, loving, playful, cute. He was everything I'd hope for in a cat. He brought me so much joy.

And then we moved to our new house, with Ogre-mi. He and Panda-mi got used to the new environment almost immediately. When he was first diagnosed we didn't even dream that he would survive until then. He stayed one and a half year in our new house. By then he occupied the whole double storey with Panda-mi, roaming around freely. I think he loves his new house.

Panda-mi tagged along with Ogre-mi all the time, until Donkey-mi came along. Then he switched his direction to tagging with Donkey-mi. Probably due to the fact that Ogre-mi is older and play with him less. But Ogre-mi did play. He would jump up onto the platform above the TV, and he would play on the cat staircase, jumping onto the topmost cubicle usually, then looking down on his humans and his fellow kyoudai. Yes, for sure. Ogre-mi is their aniki - and always will be. Although this aniki sometimes bully them - slapping their heads and faces. I remember looking at their interaction was the most rewarding thing to do at home. That was when things were good.

Ogre-mi's health started to deteriorate more or less during the time when I was outstation working in Fuzhou, China. But we brushed it aside at that time, thinking it was nothing.

The Tabby

Ogre-mi is what we call the 貍花貓, the most commonly seen type of cat in the stray market. You see his kind almost everywhere. They are so common that they are the least adopted type, other than black cats. But they are the sweetest.

Ogre-mi has a on/off button on his back. Probably a result of fights for survival on the street. He also has a patch near his left arm that didn't grow fur anymore. That was a result from a very deep wound he had when we found him.

And of course his crooked, protruding teeth and his slightly deformed chin, which we could only imagine what he had gone through. Feeder named him after his signature teeth, looking like an ogre.

Sometime he'd look at us with a "confused", "stupid" look on his face. And that always cracked us up. That expression is priceless and only Ogre-mi has that. But he's not "stupid" - far from that. He is the smartest cat of the four. He feels and understands human emotions - he knows when we're angry or upset, and he knows when we love him. I would kiss him, touch his back excessively, bury my face into his back, and he would tolerate all these even though I could tell he didn't like it. He would tolerate me doing these things because he knows these are the act of love.

His favourite though, is sitting on Feeder's lap. And he loves it when Feeder brush his fur. He'd close his eyes and enjoy the process. Sometimes he'd bury his face into Feeder's arm, for a long long time. He really loves us. And we love him a lot too.

I just really, really miss him. And I wish he is here. I wish to see him again.

I would attach a photo here of him on Feeder's lap. But I'm so afraid to look through his photos right now. I will do it when I'm ready.

The First Time We Met

Feeder went out to buy gas for cooking. He came back not with gas, but with a seriously injured Ogre-mi, of course that time we didn't call him that. We put him in an extra room to isolate him from our existing Medium Cat. And waited for the next morning to bring him to the vet. That was Feeder's birthday 11th January 2021. I left the taking care work mostly to Feeder because Ogre-mi was so smelly and dirty and weak.

Ogre-mi was being brought to the Ipoh Garden Animal Clinic, which I hated and would only go there if I had no choice (it was one of the largest and most complete clinic in Ipoh). The vet cleaned his maggot-infested mouth and diagnosed him FIV positive, estimated age about 8 years old. He wasn't a young cat.

We brought him back and nurse him into health, and fatness. We named him obviously because of his crooked teeth and slightly deformed chin, which was amazing he lived through it. I didn't think his dental condition would be one of the reasons and complications that caused his death later.

He wasn't exactly good friends with Medium Cat though. They hated each other! But that didn't stop me from loving him so much. I always love Ogre-mi more than Medium Cat.

When I came back from work. The first thing I'd do was to release Medium Cat into wilderness, and Ogre-mi from his isolation room. Because they didn't do well together, Ogre-mi could only be confined into a small room during the entire one and a half year. Only when we moved to a new house that he was able to roam the whole double-storey area whilst Medium Cat is being released as an outdoor cat.

When Feeder came back from work, he would sit down crossed-leg, and Ogre-mi could come greet him, climbed onto his lap and would sit there like a boss. And he wouldn't leave until he was satisfied, by then usually Feeder's legs were already numb. He wouldn't sit on my lap though, no matter how hard I asked. He did try and maybe it was not as comfortable, he'd sit for a while and got back up.

Ogre-mi would understand if we'd beckon for him to come. And he would obey. And when we sat on the couch and tap on the seat next to us, he would jump up to sit next to us obediently. He understood this hand gesture! He was truly the most obedient cat I've ever met.

Sometimes Ogre-mi would come to sit next to us uninvited. He'd always jump up to bed, made a u-turn, and leaned against your leg. And he would make sure with the u-turn to face outward, and not towards his humans.

The leftmost photo was when we first picked him up. The rightmost was when he was healthiest.

Ogre-mi was healthiest at these moments, way before his CKD diagnosis.

Me Before You - A Book Review

I had just finished The Witcher 3 (minus the expansions) on PS4 and there was no good free games available for a few months now - damn you Sony. Hence recently I've gone back to reading. It felt like high school again. I used to drive to my friend ST's house to borrow some books during the school holidays. Normally I came back with 5 or 6 and I would stack them neatly on my study table and evaluate which one to start.

I have no idea why this book in particular could squeeze a review out of me. But here I am, back with a new post on my blog that I have abandoned since... let me check... January 2015! That was more than a year ago! And I should be ashamed that I didn't get to finish what I started. Well, in my own defense I would like to clarify that my blog is not exactly intended for popularity purposes. It's actually like a personal journal which I don't mind letting anyone read. So that means I could just come back and write something whenever I feel like it, and not write anything whenever I don't feel like it, right? Right?

Okay, back to the review. Before you proceed, I should just warn you (if anyone is reading at all), that this is a SPOILER review of Jojo Moyes' Me Before You. Proceed at your own risk!

First of all, I think it is quite well-written for a romantic novel and it's so refreshing to the eye. Well maybe it's because I have never been exposed to too many novels of this genre. I distinctly remember reading some during my teens. I remember A Greek God At The Ladies' Club by Jenna McKnight, Message In A Bottle by Nicholas Sparks, and some book which I can't remember by Nora Roberts. That was pretty much it, and they were so bad I needed to drag myself forcefully towards the last page, in between countless eye-rollings and frustrated outbursts. Oh, not forgetting to mention the ever so popular Fifty Shades Of Grey that everyone made a big fuss about. E.L.James had so limited vocabulary that the whole book had repetitive sentence structures and repetitive words. What I'm saying is, I'm pretty happy with Me Before You, given my experience with books of this genre.

The story was told with Louisa Clark's narration, with a few chapters from different characters point of view. There was one from Camilla Traynor, one from Steven Traynor, then Nathan, and one from Katrina Clark. These chapters, I felt, were entirely unnecessary and pointless. They didn't contribute anything to the whole story. It was as if the author worried that it would be too bland and so she tried adding some salt and pepper. But totally unnecessary.

I felt a little depressed upon finishing the book. I guess it's because prior to reading Me Before You, I was on Khaled Hosseini's A Thousand Splendid Suns, which is super depressing! That might have affect my mood a little. Well you could probably guess that Me Before You is a sad ending. But as much as I hate it, it actually makes perfect sense to me. I can totally understand why Will Traynor had to do what he did. It's a little selfish, yes. But let's face it, you gotta live (or not live) for yourself. It is an interesting issue to explore - whether it is right to take your own life.

Finally, here's a trailer to the movie that's coming out in June this year. I don't think I would be able to watch it alone so I guess I would have to drag Feeder into this. Sorry!

P.S. This is the first time I'm blogging since I bought my Surface Pro 3. And I just gotta say, the keyboard is amazing!

The Big Thing - Proposal

Who - Mr. Chin

What - the proposal

(Nara, Kyoto Prefecture)

When - *checking calender* 20th Nov 2012

Basically the above explains everything. *wink*

 Hiking up.

 Scenery along the way.

 Reached the first level

 Finally reached the top.

若草山三重目 - a mere 342 metre above sea level. It was a pretty easy hike.

In Nara, deers are like dogs - they're everywhere!

The ring.

Wedding Songs

A colleague of mine is getting married soon. The other day she asked us for opinion on songs to play on her wedding. I remembered when I was young I already had a list of songs in my mind. Some of them I feel now are kind of lame, for instance I do (cherish you) by 98 degrees.

But there's one that I still think I will play on my wedding - grow old with you by Adam Sandler from the movie The Wedding Singer. This song is so romantic and perfect for weddings. The only flaw is that narration at the beginning. But thanks to the advance of technology we can always use a mp3 editor or any of that sort to get rid of that.

I couldn't help compiling a list of songs ideal - in my opinion - to play on a wedding (not that I'm getting married anytime soon). But I think I'm going to play all the songs that I love. Definitely popular songs like marry you by Bruno Mars or I do by Colbie Caillat will not be in the list. It's not that I don't like them, it's just too predictable.

I'm thinking you and me by Olivia Ong...

Everything by Michael Buble..

Nothing's gonna change my love for you by Khalil Fong. One of the classic love songs that I like. Moving on...

L.O.V.E by Nat King Cole...

Last but not least, from the animated motion pictures Quest for Camelot, looking through your eyes by LeAnn Rimes...

What about you? What songs did / will you play in your wedding?

My Best Friend's Wedding

Not the movie by Julia Roberts. Indeed, my best friend (whom I know for 13 years) just got married last week.

Audrey and Teck Guan on the lunch reception.

When Audrey made the announcement the first thing that crossed my mind was, so Audrey's the first one among us. It didn't occurred to me as a surprise or anything shocking. That was when I realized how grown up we are.

This was not the first time I attended a wedding of someone my age or younger. But attending as the bridesmaid and her best friend was totally a different feeling. Driving down the roads in Seremban was another nostalgic experience. And meeting Mr. Foo, our Form 6 class teacher was another bonus.

If growing up means not having the rights to do anything childish, we did it anyway.

 At the lunch reception.

From left: ShinYin, Xiang, ST, me, Boonlee, Ze, Snowfly.

I wondered who would be the next among us. And how old will we be by then. I don't know about the others but the very thought of getting married (and having kids) seem like a strange idea to me.

 Most of us brought boyfriends.

The Georgians in the everlasting Murali pose.

 Mr. Foo and the Georgians.

The bridesmaid at the church wedding.

  MUAKSSSSS!

Walking down the aisle in a church was my idea of a romantic wedding which I had always dreamed of. But when I did attended one, I thought it was more spiritual than romantic. I'm not a christian so I will never have a chance of having a church wedding of my own. I guess walking the aisle as a bridesmaid, in a way, fulfilled my childhood dream. Well, another strike-through on my list of things-to-do-before-I-die. ;)

 No, I wasn't sad.

 The bride and us.

We spent a night at ShinYin's after the church wedding ceremony on Saturday (the lunch reception was on Sunday). There were 4 of us staying over - Wee Tze Yee and Kin Chew (her boyfriend), SukTeng and me. During our stay, ShinYin's mom apologized that she didn't have time to take us out to lunch and all. I told her, it's alright, we'll make ourselves at home. And I realized that I meant it. It didn't feel like I was staying at a friend's house - it felt like I was staying at home. We felt comfortable even when ShinYin's brother came to our room to take his stuff when we were lazing in bed. That is how close ShinYin and I are. :)

Preparing the door gifts for lunch reception on the next day.

The door gifts, ready and packed in boxes.

I must admit the door gifts were really creative. And oh, I tied the ribbons on all the wedding dresses.

The Dandelion

This is a story that I've wrote a while back. I entered a contest and submitted it and didn't keep a copy for myself.. So I figured I'd just post it here to keep it as a remembrance.

Once upon a time, there was a dandelion. She was the happiest dandelion of all because she was very contented with what she had. She lived in the middle of a meadow which extended as far as the horizon went. That was her whole world. She had never been out of the meadow thus she had no idea what was out there. But it didn't matter. She didn't have the slight bit of interest to know anyway.

Every morning she woke up refreshed by the morning dew hanging on her florets. By day she watched the clouds passing by and observed how they transformed into all kinds of shapes. She counted the sheep that came feasting on the grass and be amused as the Australian Shepherd rushed the sheep to go home. By night she gazed at the stars and wondered if the stars were gazing at her as well. And before she went to sleep she smiled to herself and said, "This is how life should be."

One day, there came a little boy. The moment the dandelion set her eyes upon him, she knew immediately she had fallen in love. He was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. When he laughed she felt that she could listen to this sweet sound for the rest of her life. When he smiled she wished that the time would freeze and she could look at this face forever. The little boy came to the meadow every day. And every day, the dandelion hoped to catch his attention. But there was no way that little boy could notice a four-inch high dandelion. She watched him teased one of the sheep and played with the Australian Shepherd. She watched him ran around the meadow all day without any particular purpose then laughed as he gasped for breath. When night fell, she looked forward to seeing him the next day. And she thought, "This is how life should be."

Then one day, the little boy finally saw the dandelion. He bent over and examined her curiously. The dandelion thought her dream was, after all, becoming true. She felt a sharp pain and before she knew it, she was very far from the ground, held gently in the boy's hands. Her realization crept in - he plucked her from her stem! The little boy was smiling at her. A gush of wind brushed past her and suddenly, her seed parachutes went flying away. The little boy threw what was left of her on the ground and ran excitedly around the seed parachutes. The dandelion landed with a soft thud inaudible to the little boy's ears. She watched helplessly as he ran further and further away. She knew her life was coming to an end. She said to herself, "This is how life should be." She never regret loving that boy. That moment, that brief moment when he held her in his hands - that was the moment she would always remember.

I want to be in love =)

(We are all angels with a single wing, the only way we can fly is to hold on to each other)
~ Quoted from a song by Gary Chaw ~

I always feel incredibly bad - or rather, guilty - when single people tell me about how they long to be in a relationship, how they long to find the one. And they'd ask me how I met Mr. Chin, how did it started, what romantic things he did to me etc. I'd feel so reluctant to tell them and I'd try so hard to camouflage my happiness. I feel as if I don't deserve him.

They end by saying, "Oh how nice to have a boyfriend/girlfriend. You must be so happy." or "If I have a boyfriend/girlfriend now I wouldn't stay at home chatting on MSN." or "I wonder when will I find mine." I will then tell them to leave it to fate and love will eventually find them, while hoping what I said is true. And I feel more and more guilty simply for being in a relationship.

Some would ask me for tips to get a girl. I always help as far as I could - providing advices, introducing girls to them. Some broke my heart by being hopelessly conservative i.e. desperately wanting to get married for the sake of having children. Some disappointed me by changing their mind every 5 minutes. To date I have not successfully match make any couples.

Sometimes I have to tell them the painful truth - you don't have a sense of humour, you should lose some weight, you are not sensitive enough. Much that I hate to admit, the world is a cruel place. The first impression i.e. the look, is one major thing when it comes to opposite sex attraction.

Being 27 years old this year, the pressure is starting to build up. However desperate we are, it can't really be helped. The one who want me isn't the one I want, the one whom I want doesn't want me. Love is as complicated as it can be. It hurts me when listening to stories like this. I laugh and scold with my girlfriends when they tell me about jerks they met, those who broke their heart, those assholes and losers.

My mom always say you will never know who is your till-death-do-us-part until you're dying on your deathbed. I think it's very true. I sincerely hope all my friends will find their very own happily ever after.

P.S. Recently a friend was happily attached. Congratulations to him and his sweet girlfriend. :)

(Layers of Thoughts)

A friend of mine wrote a poem.

悄然回首,锦瑟华年谁与度,数秋逍遥梦,斩尽千丝愁;

For the benefit of those who can't understand or read Chinese, here's the translation:

Looking back,
I wonder who had you spent your youth with,
You had been alone for the past few years,
So now please forget about the worries from the past;
At this moment,
I will follow you for the rest of our lives,
We will be there for each other and take care of each other,
Spring will past and so will winter,
Envying the lovers and not the fairies. The lovers are more to be regard with envy than the fairies.

Oh my God, my terrible terrible translation... Please understand that I've tried my best, especially the last line, as I myself don't hundred percent understand the poem. And to the anonymous author*, please don't kill me...

As far as my understanding goes, basically the poem is about this guy telling his beloved that she should forget about the worries and unhappiness from her past. He understands that she had been alone and unhappy. But now, she has him. He's promising her that they'll be together forever. And they'll look out for each other, for years and years to come. So why would they want to be fairies** when they have each other to spend the rest of their lives with?

It's amazing how a few Chinese words can create a beautiful picture. Its  meaning is only limited to one's imagination.

Notes:
*The author of this poem wishes to remain anonymous.
**In Chinese belief, the fairies live... erm... luxuriously, carefree and they're immortal.

Untitled

Even if a person doesn't love you the way you want him to, it doesn't mean that he doesn't love you with all he has.

But if you can't feel his love, what is the whole point of it?

A Letter from Me to Myself

Dear Me,

I try my very best to love you. I always do. But sometimes I find it hard to do so.

I wish that you are a lot of things that you are not, and will never be.
I wish that you're more friendly and sociable.
I wish that you're less emotional.
I wish that you're more caring and understanding.
I wish that you're less sensitive and vulnerable.
I wish that you're more simple-minded.
I wish that you're less difficult.
I wish that you're more manageable.
I wish that you're more intelligent.
I wish that you're more beautiful.

I try to make you change for the better. I try to mould you into my ideal, perfect person. But it just seems so difficult. Maybe you refuse to change. I wouldn't know.

(I understand that I'm not that kind of person you'd wish that I am, either. But I always tend to overlook that.)

If you're not what I wish you are, will I still be able to love you? Unconditionally?

Perhaps I can. Maybe I can't. I hope that I can. What would I be without you? I'd be an empty shell.

All I ask in return, is for you to love me for who I am and am not; and bear with me, for the things that I did and did not do; for what I have and do not have; for the words I said and did not say.

You can hate me sometimes, and I can hate you. But behind every harsh word, every accusing stare, every cold gesture, I hope you know that there is always a thing called love.

I truly believe that we'll be together for a very long time. Till death do us part. On second thought, maybe even death can't do us part. ;)

This is my first and also last love letter to you, because I trust that after you've read this, we'll have mutual understanding about each other, as if you are inside of me, and I am inside of you. Please do not doubt that I will love you with all my heart, always had and always will.

Love,
Myself

Confused

If our love no longer make us feel secured, happy and contented, is it still called "love"?
Has it deteriorate into something called "shackles"?
And we are trapped, in our own prison...
But at least there's a prison...
It's better than nothing at all...

Oh God help me...
I'm digging my own grave...

Way Back Into Love

This is a song from the movie "Music and Lyrics" starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. Never really had the chance to properly sit down and watch the movie and I don't think the story is anything special anyway. But I like the soundtrack. The melody is just okay but I love the lyrics, especially the part:
I've been hiding all my hopes and dreams away
Just in case I ever need them again someday
It just sounds so... Deep.
Anyway watch the video and sing with the lyrics. I'm sure you'll feel what I feel. Enjoy...

p.s. I didn't know Hugh Grant can sing. Not bad...

Love

If you want to be loved, love.
One thing I discovered about love is that...
One can never expect fairness in love.
A mother loves the child more than the child does, her.
A girlfriend misses her boyfriend more than he does, her.
It's not always the case but...
Most of the time, I suppose.
But then again...
How can you ever expect fairness in this world?
In the end...
Love is about tolerating one another.
If you love him, you'd want him to feel happy.

love

Received an email from Soo Ngoh last night. I was at Zilin's so we read it together. It kind of touched me. And I believe Zilin as well. It's a philosophy about love. I've had it copied and pasted here:

爱一个人,要了解,也要开解;
要道歉,也要道谢;
要认错,也要改错;
要体贴,也要体谅;
是接受,而不是忍受;
是宽容,而不是纵容;
是支持,而不是支配;
是慰问,而不是质问;
是倾诉,而不是控诉;
是难忘,而不是遗忘;
是彼此交流,而不是凡事交代;
而不是向对方诸多要求;
可以浪漫,但不要浪费;

For the benefit of those who are Chinese illiterate, I've directly translated it. I'm not a very good translator though but I feel that it's an obligation to share this with you people. So here goes:

Love, at the very beginning it's always sweet
There's always a person to be there for you, to share everything with you
You're not alone anymore, at least there's a person who loves you, who thinks of you
Whatever you do,
Long as you're together, everything is well
But then, as you know each other better,
You'd begin to notice his flaws
Thus problems arise one after another
You begin to feel troubled, tired, and you want to escape
People say it's like picking up little pebbles
You want to pick up The One that's suitable for youself
But how would you know when you'd find one?
If she's The One for you, are you The One for her?
Well, love is like polishing pebbles
When you first picked up the pebble, you may not feel satisfied
But humans are flexible
A lot of things can be changed
Long as you have the heart, and courage
If you want to go around picking up unknown pebbles,
Wouldn't you rather polish up the pebble that's already in your hands?
People think because the feeling subsided
Thus they become lazy
Wrong!
It's actually people tend to be lazy
And causes the feeling to subside

In a dinner gathering, at one point someone mentioned that eating shrimps is good for health
A middle-aged man then said, "Ten years ago, when my wife was still my girlfriend, if she said she wants to eat ten shrimps, I'd peel twenty for her. Now, she wants me to do that? No way! I don't even have interest to take off her clothes."

Understand?
It's no wonder why people nowadays don't fancy an early marriage
This is because, marriage makes people lazy
If everyone is
Lazy to talk
Lazy to listen
Lazy to create surprises
Lazy to be gentle and considerate
Then I'd be surprise if they don't go their separate ways
So please remember
An active romantic relationship
Needs sufficient nourishment
To be in a relationship
You can't be lazy

A couple had decided to go for a dinner after work. But the girl was late because of an office meeting. She was wet from the rain and was late for 30 minutes. Her boyfriend was very unhappy and said, "You are always like this. I will not wait for you anymore." At that moment the girl totally broke down, she thought, "Maybe, we don't have a future together."

The same situation, same place, same time. The girl was also late for 30 minutes. Her boyfriend said to her, "You must be very tired." He then wiped the rain water from her face and put on a coat for her. At that moment, the girl cried too. But the tears that rolled down her cheeks are warm, so as her heart.

Can you understand?
Between love and hate, there's just one fine line.

Love needs forgiveness and timing. It all depends on how you think.
When a person falls in love with you, and you think he's a fine guy
That doesn't mean you'd pick him
You say, "I want to find a guy whom I love very much, before I can commit."
But when asked, how would you consider that you love very much?
You may not be able to answer, because you can't

That's right. We always think we'd find the person whom we love very very much.
But when we look back, we'd find ourselves were indeed very naive
If it was never started, how would you know you wouldn't love him very very much?
The feeling of love is being discovered, only after you've been with him through ups and downs
You're hoping to find The One
But maybe, just maybe, someone has already been there all along, just that you never noticed.
So, take a look around
Maybe he's been waiting for a very long time

When you love someone, love him 80%
The hopes and expectations, make them 80%, the remaining 20% is for you to love yourself
If you love him too much, you may form a kind of pressure, causing both to suffocate

A friend once asked me, "How do you love someone?"
I told him,"Everyone has a different perception for love. I wouldn't want to mislead you."

Best wishes for all the lovebirds in the world

There are a part at the end which i decided not to do the translation. I regret to say it's something the Chinese illiterate can't appreciate. So I'd remain as it is. Anyway, hope you'd feel what I feel after reading.

Love Letters of Great Men

Browsing through Shinyin's blog I came across this love letter which sounded strangely familiar. Googling it made me remember that it was quoted from Sex and the City by Sarah Jessica Parker. I remember it kind of touched me.

Good morning, on July 7

Though still in bed, my thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved, now and then joyfully, then sadly, waiting to learn whether or not fate will hear us - I can live only wholly with you or not at all - Yes, I am resolved to wander so long away from you until I can fly to your arms and say that I am really at home with you, and can send my soul enwrapped in you into the land of spirits - Yes, unhappily it must be so - You will be the more contained since you know my fidelity to you. No one else can ever possess my heart - never - never - Oh God, why must one be parted from one whom one so loves. And yet my life in V is now a wretched life - Your love makes me at once the happiest and the unhappiest of men - At my age I need a steady, quiet life - can that be so in our connection? My angel, I have just been told that the mailcoach goes every day - therefore I must close at once so that you may receive the letter at once - Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together - Be calm - love me - today - yesterday - what tearful longings for you - you - you - my life - my all - farewell. Oh continue to love me - never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.

ever thine
ever mine
ever ours
